Heading to Snowdonia National Park this weekend for some peace, tranquility and space to think among the mountains? Then you’re not the only one. 

Prime Minister Teresa May is also visiting the North Walian national park with her husband Philip for a spot of walking and, no doubt, some blue-skies pondering after a bruising stint in Parliament.

It’s a smart choice. With widescreen vistas, great local produce and lots of rural boltholes, there’s plenty of distractions from the Irish border backstop.

It’s timely, too, with events now under way for Discover National Park fortnight  (nationalparks.uk), an annual celebration of Britain’s 15 national parks running until April 21.
