The guests, whose identities have not been disclosed, checked into the rental on April 26, 2024, and noticed unusual symbols or writing scrawled on the wall. The markings appeared to be recent, and the guests contacted local police and Airbnb support to report the discovery.
San Diego police confirmed they responded to the scene after the guests’ call but have not yet released detailed information about the markings or their origin. The property owner has cooperated with authorities and is conducting a separate investigation into how the markings appeared.
